Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Bio

Gerald joined the TLC team in October 2022. He completed his BA in communication sciences & disorders from LSU, and received his master’s in speech-language pathology from UL Lafayette in 2018. Most of Gerald's experience is in early language intervention and articulation/fluency within schools and private settings. Gerald's style of therapy is informed by the developmental-individual differences-relationship based (DIR/Floortime) model. Gerald is also trained in tethered oral tissues (TOTS), which allows him to support parents in their decisions about tongue- and tip-tie releases. He is highly invested in working with young children and their parents to develop play and communication skills, and feels equally rewarded supporting older kids through challenges in higher-order thinking, whether play-based or academic. Outside of the clinic, Gerald enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with his fiancée and their dog, Mabel.
